One woman’s reappearance throws her family into turmoil, exposing dark secrets and the hidden, often devastating truth of family relationships.

Kate Bennett vanished from a parking lot eleven years ago, leaving behind her husband and young daughter. When she shows up at a Montana gas station, clutching an infant and screaming for help, investigators believe she may have been abducted by a cult.

Kate’s return flips her family’s world upside down―her husband is remarried, and her daughter barely remembers her. Kate herself doesn’t look or act like she did before.

While the family tries to help Kate reintegrate into society, they discover truths they’ve been hiding from each other about their relationships. But they aren’t the only ones with secrets. As the family unravels what happened to Kate, a series of shocking revelations shows that Kate’s return is more sinister than any of them could have imagined.

B-RANDS REVIEW: 5/5 PRAYING HANDS

Hello, Fellow Bookworms!

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my latest book review!

There is just something about a cult book that just reminds me of all the other cult-related scenarios I have listened to. I don't know about you all but I could never be in a cult, ever. I don't understand how people just follow so easily but then again when you listen to what they do to people joining a cult you somewhat gain knowledge on brainwashing. You start to wonder what you would do given it was you in that situation. It's so sickening how fast and growing people are that have god complexes and the people willingly choosing to worship them too is insane. This book was a fast and attention-grabbing read, I wanted to pick it up and press play with the movie in my head. This was my first Lucinda Berry book and so far I am hooked on the way she writes!!

Are you joining a cult for 1,000,000?

  • Heck ya, let's go baby!!!

  • Yeah no keep your money, I like freedom.

"The world’s oldest published author, Bertha Wood, was 100 when her memoirs Fresh Air and Fun: The Story of a Blackpool Holiday Camp was released. She began the book at age 90."
