โ€œShocking, disturbing, and utterly original.โ€ โ€”Paula Hawkins, #1 New York Times bestselling author

This โ€œhaunting and poignant tale, one that wonโ€™t be easy to forget any time soonโ€ (Mystery and Suspense Magazine), follows an enigmatic woman confronting her unknown pastโ€”from internationally bestselling author Liz Nugent.

Reclusive Sally Diamond is thrust into the media spotlight when she tries to incinerate her dead father, causing widespread outrage. Now sheโ€™s the center of attention, not only from hungry reporters and police detectives, but also a sinister voice from a past she does not remember. As she begins to discover the repressed memories of her horrific early childhood, Sally steps into the world for the first time, making new friends, big decisions, and learning that people donโ€™t always mean what they say.

But who is the man observing Sally from the other side of the world, and why does he call her Mary? And why does her new neighbor seem to be obsessed with her? Sallyโ€™s trust issues are about to be severely challenged in this โ€œtruly incredible reading experienceโ€ (Lisa Jewell, #1 New York Times bestselling author).

B-RANDS REVIEW: 3/5 Disco Dancin' Teddy Bears

Hello Fellow Bookworms!

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and check out my latest book review!

This book had a great strong start. The author did a great job at capturing me and keeping me hooked with this book. Sally is very strange. It almost gives the vibes of a young woman who is unable to "read the room". She says what she's feeling and takes everything that you say in the literal sense. I couldn't put this book down the moment that I picked it up.

FUN FACT: This book was lent to me by a close friend!

She had waited to share her opinion on the book until I had finished it. If you guys haven't done this before I highly recommend doing so. It made my thoughts and her thoughts come together to talk about how we separately felt about the book without being biased. It was a conversation worth having and worth meaning. When you get wrapped up in a book with your movie rolling it's so neat to hear about that movie from another person's point of view!

With that being said I will say that the biggest reason I gave this book this rating was the ending. It was in my opinion disappointing. I was expecting something that went with the storyline. I felt as if the ending was trying to be a twist which it did come off that way but it wasn't my cup of tea. If you feel differently or want to add something please don't hesitate! I can't wait to hear your thoughts! Thanks again :)

If your father gave you outrageous instructions for his funeral would you follow through with it?

  • Yes, It's what he would have wanted.

  • No way. I know what he wanted but it's better my way.

Reading can make YOU a better conversationalist!!
