"When Louise finds out her parents have died, she dreads going home. She doesn’t want to leave her daughter with her ex and fly to Charleston. She doesn’t want to deal with her family home, stuffed to the rafters with the remnants of her father’s academic career and her mother’s lifelong obsession with puppets and dolls. She doesn’t want to learn how to live without the two people who knew and loved her best in the world.
Most of all, she doesn’t want to deal with her brother, Mark, who never left their hometown, gets fired from one job after another, and resents her success. Unfortunately, she’ll need his help to get the house ready for sale because it’ll take more than some new paint on the walls and clearing out a lifetime of memories to get this place on the market.
But some houses don’t want to be sold, and their home has other plans for both of them…"
B-RANDS REVIEW: 3/5 Dancing Ghosts

Hello Friends!
Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out this book review!
In my opinion, the title alone was enough to entice me. "A haunted house and they're trying to sell it? OH man, it's gotta be good." It was alright. I wanted to give this review a 3.5 but if I'm being honest I didn't know how to split my ghosts in half haha. So I went with the lower score vs the higher one and gave it a 4.
This book's storyline was very intriguing from the beginning until the end. This book had a way of making you feel the chills and constantly making sure if something went creak reading the book. It had a way of making you want to keep turning page after page after page.
If I have to be 100% honest with you I didn't care for the dolls involved in this book. I feel this book had real potential to go somewhere ghostly rather than with hand puppets and dolls. It did seem a bit unrealistic at times and I found myself screaming internally LIGHT THAT STUPID THING ON FIRE ALREADY. I guess that's the whole purpose of this book to get a rise out of me and it did. The ending felt a bit out of control almost. Was it an ending that wowed me? Not really.
They also include photographs of 2 important parts of the book which is great visualization and also more information on ghosts as well as spirits and dolls. Overall this book was a great read for October and I would highly encourage you to take an indulgent ride with this book and tell me what you think! It's got me ready for this spooky month.
WHERE TO BUY:
How do you feel about dolls?
Dolls aren't that creepy
They are so freaking creepy
In a recent study, avid readers were found to be 10% more likely than people who don't read to have better self-esteem.
